What is the Food Boost Challenge?
Welcome to the exciting world of the Food Boost Challenge 2022! This incredible initiative is a collaboration between the medical delta living lab Vit for Life, HortiHeroes, and FoodValley NL, alongside The Hague University of Applied Sciences as the key research partner. Our mission? To inspire young people, aged 12 to 20, to rethink their food choices and make fruit and vegetables a delicious part of their daily diet.
How Does It Work?
The Food Boost Challenge is structured in four dynamic phases that take participants from research all the way to prototype development. First, we dive into research, where students can explore the barriers they face in accessing and enjoying healthier food options. Next, participants move into the ideation phase, where creativity flows! This is where fun brainstorming sessions happen, allowing young minds to generate innovative ideas that make fruits and veggies irresistible.
As we progress, ideas will evolve into concepts, and then finally, into prototypes that can be tested in real-world scenarios. The aim is not only to create appealing food options but also to equip the next generation with the skills they need to tackle food challenges in their communities.
Why is This Important?
With rising health concerns among young people globally, it is crucial to empower them with the knowledge and resources to make better food choices. The Food Boost Challenge 2022 aims to address this head-on, encouraging a lifestyle that embraces fruits and vegetables. By partnering with educational institutions, businesses, and community organizations, we can create a network that supports the development of healthier eating habits from a young age.
Moreover, we believe that change often starts with engaging young people in a fun and creative way. The Food Boost Challenge is not just about nutrition; it's about inspiring passion and creativity in food among young innovators. This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their ideas, learn valuable skills, and make friends along the way!
Let’s spice up our eating habits and lead the way toward a brighter, healthier future—for ourselves and for generations to come!
